Auld Lang Syne 2017

Auld Lang Syne 2017

I love the haunting melodic tune of this old Scottish Song that is played each year at the strike of midnight to bring in a new year.
But the song seems to be more of a reflection of the old year, all those things that brought us joy, times, people and memories that made the year shine.
So 2017 thank you for my days of “old long since.”
Don and I started 2017 in Los Angelas with Dons football crew, celebrating the east coast New Year since they all had to go to sleep for an early crew call.

Our beloved Msgr Brosnan passed away in Ireland and though we gained an angel in heaven we lost a powerful force of kindness and compassion here on earth.

Kathy Dooley, a beautiful woman whom I had only met a couple of times but whose energy, love and ability to make every person she met feel special also was taken, again making heaven a little brighter but our world a little darker.

I end this year feeling like the wealthiest woman in the world. And though my bank account may not reflect “wealth” my treasures lay in the love of friends and family that I am privileged to surround myself with.

“And there’s a hand my trusty friend! And give me a hand o’ thine! And we’ll take a right good-will draught, for auld lang syne.”
And my riches are in the memories of all those places I have had the opportunity to see and memories that will stay near to my heart for a lifetime.

So my old Acquaintances you shall never be forgot, your always in my mind. What memories I have to stay with me for Auld Lang Syne.
Happy 2018 to all my friends and family, my prayer is that this year will bring joy, prosperity and peace to all of us.

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.
