Palm Springs 2023

Located 2 hours from Los Angeles this lovely town made a name for itself when movie stars would come here to vacation to get away from the craziness of Hollywood.

We visited in May and it was already hot! If you’re walking around drink plenty of water and try to do your outside site seeing in the early morning or late evening.

Lots of fun artwork and be sure to visit the giant Marilyn Monroe Statue “Forever Marilyn” on Museum Way.

Have a chat with Lucille Ball on 100 N Pal Canyon.

Consult with former city mayor Sonny Bono

Or drive by Elvis Presley honeymoon house.

If you want to cool off on a hot day check out The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, a rotating car that will bring you beyond the cliffs of Chino Canyon to Mt. San Jacinto State Park. The cost for the ride is $30.00. At the top there are areas to hike, beautiful views of the area and even spots to take a nap. There are also a couple restaurants and of course a gift shop. Bring a jacket because the weather is much cooler at the top.

There are lots of places to eat, during our short visit these were 2 of the places we enjoyed.

Tuscany Grill

Loved this beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Incredibly romantic with delicious food. The inflatable duck and flamingo in the fountain gives it a touch of whimsical.

We ordered the Steak Diane so delicious and perfectly cooked that melted in my mouth, and the Fettuccini Alfredo Pasta with Jumbo Prawns, also delicious. Dinner ended with a complimentary amaretto and biscotti.

Delicious food, romantic setting with just a touch of whimsical. I love this place and cant wait to go back.

Thirsty Palms

Inside and outside seating, outside they have mist that make you feel like your sitting in an air conditioned room without getting you all wet. I had a cheeseburger and fries, cheeseburger cooked to perfection. Service was great, fun place to eat and people watch.

Lots to see, check out their website for special events that happen throughout the year.
